The American Lawyer

The American Lawyer is a monthly law magazine published by ALM. It was founded in 1979 by Steven Brill. Features include:

• The annual AmLaw 100 Survey and AmLaw 200 Survey (law firms ranked number of attorneys, profits per partner and overall revenue)
• "The View From the Top" (annual poll of law firm chairpersons)
• "Corporate Scorecard"^[1]

The American Lawyer uses the website Law.com and publishes daily headline news of legal business and lawyers from around the world there.^[2]

The magazine should not be confused with the title of a book by the attorney Johnnie Cochran.
